Social
work has evolved out of philanthropic and democratic ideals and its moral
values are
based on respect for the equality, importance and dignity of all individuals.
For almost a century ago, the focus of the social work profession has been on
meeting human needs and developing human potential. Human rights and social
justice act as inspiration and justification for the social work system. In
order to promote their social inclusion, this business strives for the
alleviation of poverty and the freedom of vulnerable and oppressed persons for
the integration of disadvantaged persons. The social work profession explores
the barriers, inequality and injustice prevailing in the society. Its purpose
is to help individuals develop their full potential, enrich their lives and
prevent evil. Professional social work focuses on problem solving and change.
In this way, social workers are changers in the lives of individuals, families
and communities in the society. They solve crises, emergencies and everyday
personal and social problems.
Social
work involves the use of a variety of skills, techniques, and activities with a
welfare emphasis on individuals and their surroundings, ranging from elementary
individual psychological processes to social policy, planning and development.
These tasks include counselling, clinical, social work, group work, social educational
work and family, treatment and therapy, as well as efforts to help individuals
find services and resources in society. These tasks also include engaging in
social and political work to promote functions such as agency administration,
community organization and social policy and economic development. The welfare
purpose of social work is universal, but the priorities of social work practice
will vary from country to country and from time to time depending on cultural,
historical and socio-economic conditions.
Social
workers try to get relief from adversity and sorrows and try to redress them.
It is their responsibility to help individuals, families, groups and society by
arranging and operating appropriate services and contributing to social
planning. They work with, on behalf of and in their interest to enable
individuals to deal with personal and social problems and to obtain essential
services and resources. Their work may include interpersonal practice, group
work, community work, social development, social action, policy development,
research, social work education, and supervisory and managerial work in these
areas, but their work is limited to these tasks. are not. The scope of work of
professional social workers is increasing day by day.
By
doing good work on any subject, it can be made useful and important. By the
way, these days in humanities and social sciences, there is a trend of topics
related to Dalit, tribal, women, globalization, poverty, privatization,
liberalization, marketism, farmers etc. In the natural sciences, any new
discovery or experiment is important in which new and exciting conclusions are
being drawn. New discoveries in the field of medicine are the result of this
process. Microbiology and nanotechnology are popular topics in natural science
research these days.
Due
to the lack of good research institutes and universities in India, the tendency
of Indian students to research in foreign institutions has increased. In the
latest era of globalization, countries of the world are coming closer to each
other and mutual agreement (MoU) is increasing between them in all fields. The
movement of students for research is also an important part of these
agreements.
If
we look at the continental level, these days there has been an increase in the
number of Indian students coming to Europe, America and Australia for research.
The expenses incurred during research from other countries are usually borne by
us or the government of the country concerned. Every year the number of
researchers coming to India from other countries and going abroad from India is
in thousands. Various research papers have been included in this issue.

Ramshankar
